Breaking Stigmas Together: Okwara Foundation & First Care Medical Clinic Champion Women’s Behavioral Health in Albemarle.
At Okwara Community Foundation, we know that true family health includes mental and behavioral wellness. That’s why we were honored to partner with First Care Medical Clinic at the recent Stanly County H.E.L.P.S. Women’s Behavioral Health Event in Albemarle, NC home to one of FCMC’s 10 trusted locations across the Carolinas. Dr. Okwara and local community advocates came together to spark honest conversations, share resources, and break the stigmas that too often surround women’s mental health. The event created a safe, supportive space where neighbors could ask questions, access education, and learn about care options available right in their community.Moments like these are why we do what we do. Because every woman in Stanly County deserves to know she has a place to turn for compassionate physical and behavioral care.
